Performances, author events, illustration workshops, round tables and educational opportunities:
since 2018, the Empoli book festival Leggenda. Festival della lettura e dell’ascolto, has actively engaged with local schools and educators, culminating in a long weekend in May packed with stories, voices, music and culture, oriented primarily towards families with children.
More than 50 authors, selected from among the best and most important in the world of children’s literature, participate in the festival every year: Michela Murgia, Daniel Pennac, Nicoletta Costa, Simone Frasca, Guido Quarzo and Gek Tessaro, to name a few.
The main focus of the event is children: little ones can discover and explore new fantastical worlds through performances and readings, while older children can meet the authors and illustrators of their favourite books and participate in the festival’s wide range of workshops.
A don’t-miss opportunity for enjoying Empoli with children and travelling with them between the real and the imaginary!
