This is the sixth edition of Leggenda, the festival of reading and listening that, once again this year, includes a packed programme of meetings, conferences, workshops and shows for adults and, especially, children and young people.

The standout feature of the 2023 event will be its focus on accessibility and inclusiveness as well as the highly anticipated attendance of international guests.

This “Leggenda festival 2023”, with its sections of activities related to reading and listening, will talk about accessibility, inclusiveness and excellent legibility, with educational moments and performances for an adult audience and talks for children and young people, which will focus on these very themes.

From 11 to 14 May 2023, the city of Empoli will host four days of culture and itinerant readings that will involve more than 80 events aimed at the general public and children. All free of charge, they will take place in the festival’s historical venues such as the renovated Renato Fucini municipal library and the Palazzo delle Esposizioni, but also in new locations that will be unveiled in the coming weeks.

And there will be no lack of other outstanding new features For the first time, the programme will host panels and narrations in ISL [Italian Sign Language] for children, accompanied by games and workshops. This year, Leggenda will also go beyond national borders to host international guests who will enrich the festival’s fine roster of authors, performers and illustrators.
